1. Introduction

Trackara ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our mobile application ("App") and website.

2. Information We Collect

2a. Information You Provide

We may collect the following information that you provide directly:

  • Account information (email address if you create an account)
  • Project data (vehicle details, maintenance records, expenses, tasks)
  • Photos you upload within the App
  • Support communications and feedback you send to us

2b. Automatically Collected Information

When you use the App, we may automatically collect:

  • Device type, operating system version, and app version
  • Crash reports and error logs
  • Anonymous usage analytics

We use this information solely to improve app stability and performance.

2c. OBD2 Data

Diagnostic data read from your vehicle via an OBD2 scanner is stored locally on your device only and is never transmitted to our servers. This data remains entirely under your control.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • Provide and improve the App and its features
  • Process subscription payments via Apple App Store or Google Play
  • Respond to support requests
  • Send transactional notifications (subscription renewal reminders, etc.)
  • Improve app performance based on crash reports and analytics

4. Data Storage and Local Privacy

The core of Trackara's privacy model is local storage. Your vehicle projects, maintenance records, expenses, and OBD2 diagnostic data are stored on your device. We do not have access to this data. When you delete the App, this data is removed from your device.

5. Cloud Storage (Firebase)

For users who create an account or use cloud sync features, certain data may be stored on Google Firebase. This data is protected by Google's security infrastructure. You can request deletion of cloud-stored data at any time by contacting us at the address listed in Section 13.

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or share your personal information with third parties, except in the following limited circumstances:

  • Payment processors (Apple, Google) for subscription billing
  • Analytics providers — anonymized, aggregated data only
  • Legal requirements — court orders or law enforcement requests where disclosure is required by law

7. Subscription and Billing

Subscriptions are processed entirely by Apple App Store or Google Play. Trackara does not store or have access to your payment card information. Billing disputes and refund requests should be directed to Apple or Google support.

8. Your Rights (CCPA / GDPR)

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • The right to access your data
  • The right to correct inaccurate data
  • The right to request deletion of your data
  • The right to opt out of analytics collection
  • The right to data portability

9. Children's Privacy

Trackara is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with information, please contact us immediately so we can delete it.

10. Data Retention

We retain support communications for up to 2 years. Analytics data is anonymized and retained for product improvement purposes only. Cloud-synced data is retained until you request deletion or delete your account.

11. Security

We use industry-standard security measures including:

  • Encryption in transit (TLS)
  • Firebase security rules and access controls
  • App-level data protection

No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. We encourage you to use a strong device passcode to protect your local data.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via the App or website. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
